ITU agrees to call IMT-2020… IMT-2020, sets next steps for 5G

ITU Group To Scrutinise 5G Standardisation Requirements

A focus group within the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) will push ahead to identify fixed network standardisation requirements for the 5G development of IMT-2020. The group’s activities will concentrate on identifying the standardisation needs of the wireline elements of 5G networks and building on analysis of IMT-2020 studies being undertaken by other entities.
