Telekom Slovenije To Pilot Converged Optical Ethernet Network for 5G

Telekom Slovenije will head the deployment of a pilot 5G network  as part of the iCirrus project being lead by the University of Kent. A laboratory construction of a pilot cloud radio access network (C-RAN) in the company’s homeland of Slovenia should provide useful research for the project’s aim to integrate device-to-device communications and C-RAN into a mobile information cloud.
